VIDEO PREMIERE: BLOODY DEATH SKULL “BATS”

L.A. RECORD‘s own Daiana Feuer and her extremely Halloween-y band Bloody Death Skull (Gerard Olson, Andres Renteria, Beth McSelf) have a new song and a new video for one of the happiest days of the year, mixed by former Low End Theory resident and all-round architect of excellence Elvin Estela (a.k.a. DJ Nobody). Estela teleports BDS’ usual—although so little about this band classifies as “usual,” really—ukelele-gone-Roky-Erickson-rock into the 99th century, and the result sounds like a horror-movie closing credits song by mad scientist Bruce Haack. The video by Feuer is brightly colored broad daylight insanity about wanting what you can’t quite have … or catch. Says Feuer: “The video stars a bat and a hungry demon. The bat has no idea it’s so delicious. To the demon, it’s like a walking slice of pizza. This is the first peek at a new, wild, sci-fi-sock-hop-in-da-club album coming in 2019.” “Bats” is out now on Spotify.
